About CK enterprises, LLC

Lance Kitchens, P.E. and James H. (Jim) Chandler formed CK enterprises, LLC in 2001. Jim is Lance’s father-in-law and both individuals lived off of Tyler Road at the time. An older residence situated on a large tract of land off of Tyler Road had been on the market for a considerable time. Combining their business and technical skills, Lance and Jim purchased the property and developed a 14 home subdivision known as Cobble Creek.

An additional opportunity arose in 2006 and CK enterprises purchased undeveloped property off of Parliament Lane in Vestavia Hills. Parliament Lane was extended to create 8 new lots (Parliament South) where Lance currently resides.

In 2007, the adjacent property to Parliament South was planned to be a commercial development but the deal was not feasible due to access issues. CK enterprises purchased the property and an access easement from the adjacent shopping center to create a 27-lot subdivision known as Cobble Hill.

CK enterprises has been idle for many years and Jim has retired during that time.

In October of 2019, the compound known as the Smith Farm went to auction. Being the property surrounds Jim’s house, CK enterprises had a vested interest to ensure future plans would yield a product that would be an asset to the community. The Smith Farm compound consisted of 8 parcels of land and CK enterprises was successful in securing 6 of the parcels.

With Jim’s retirement, Harris Wilson joined CK enterprises and will be responsible for overseeing construction activities.
